Iā€™m the Bag Guy

Production Companies: Printhouse Films & LUMA Films
Director: Nick Hansbauer

I'm the Bag-Guy: A pro-environemntal project shot on wasteful super 8 mm film.

In this visual 3 minute short film, we showcase a caricature of an ignorant, profit-obsessed, "always on" consumer that reaps the consequences of his actions when nature decides to strike back in the most surreal way. ā€“ All whilst displaying self-awareness of our own environmental footprint.

The film plays with visual analogies pertaining to ever-growing waste, pollution of oceans, capitalism, and meat consumption.

Don't be the bag guy.

Some more information about this film: straight 8 challenges filmmakers around the globe to shoot a short film on a single role of super 8 mm film. All edits must happen in camera whilst shooting and the filmmakers do not even see what they shot until after the jury has screened the rolls. No alternate takes, no post production, no redos.

Also, the score needs to be an originally composed piece. No licensing allowed.
